The men’s national team head coach post is open for applications according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Registration for the head coach role has already begun, as the current head coach, Rahul Dravid, is scheduled to step down at the conclusion of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup.

The new term will start on July 1st and last through December 31st, 2027. In the meantime, May 27th is the deadline for submitting the application.

In addition, BCCI secretary Jay Shah advised Dravid that if he desires a longer term, he may reapply for the position. The biggest question at the moment is who might be the next head coach. It is anticipated that Andy Flower, Stephen Fleming, Justin Lenger, Gautam Gambhir, and Virendra Sehwag will be the leading candidates for this position.

Speaking of these great cricket players, Virendra Sehwag has already led the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL as their coach. From 1999 to 2013, he served as India’s delegate. Most people consider him to be one of the most potent openers and one of the best batsmen of his generation.

From 2003 until 2016, Gautam Gambhir demonstrated his skill as a cricket player for the Indian squad. The politician who was once a cricket player stated that he wished to devote more of his time to his sport. This might be seen as his desire to lead Team India as head coach.

The Australian men’s national team was coached by Justin Langer in the past. Being a left-handed hitter, Langer gained notoriety in the early and mid-2000s for his collaboration with Matthew Hayden as Australia’s opening batsman in test matches.

One of the most successful captains of the cricket team in New Zealand is Stephen Fleming. He used to be an international cricket player and is currently a coach in New Zealand. He was a right-arm slow medium bowler on occasion and a left-handed opening batsman.

Andy Flower is a former cricket player and coach from Zimbabwe. As one of the all-time best wicket-keeper-batters, he became a member of the Zimbabwe national cricket squad in 1992.

India is currently preparing for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup. The competition is scheduled to begin on June 2 and end on June 29.
