India vs South Africa at the T20 World Cup final: all you need to know

The men’s T20 World Cup 2024 finalists have been determined; South Africa and India will compete for the championship on Saturday morning in Bridgetown, Barbados.

So India and South Africa it is. How many times have they met in ICC finals? Or a knockout match?

The two sides will square off in the men’s ICC competition final for the first time. In the semi-final of the 2014 T20 World Cup, India defeated South Africa.

Can they be called the two best teams in this tournament?

It’s true that the two best teams have advanced to the championship game. South Africa has an extra victory under their belts because of India’s defeat versus Canada, although both sides are undefeated in the tournament having won both of their group stages and Super Eights.

The first team to win an undefeated men’s T20 World Cup will be the one that prevails in the final.

There is a reserve day?

There is, in fact, a reserve day for the final. If, even with extra time, it is not possible to complete at least 10 overs each on Saturday, the match will only continue onto Sunday. If the game is currently in progress, it will resume on Saturday where it left off rather than beginning anew.

The reserve day is set to begin play at 10.30 a.m. local time, much like match day. Even if there is a 20% probability of rain during match hours, the prognosis for Sunday is still a little better than what is anticipated for the rest of the day and overnight.

What happens if we can’t get a result even after the reserve day?

Even on the reserve day, if inclement weather keeps the game from finishing, both teams will be deemed winners jointly.
