Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should play in the 2024 World Cup, according to Gautam Gambhir, but with one exception.

Much discussion has focused on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s futures in the national team since Gautam Gambhir was named Team India’s head coach. In response, Gautam Gambhir made a suggestion at a press conference that Rohit and Kohli, in spite of their advanced age, are still part of his plans for the 2027 World Cup.

He went so far as to say that the pair might still be selected for the 2027 ODI World Cup if they continue to be healthy.

“One thing I can be very clear of is that both of those guys (Rohit and Virat) have a lot of cricket left in them,” stated Gambhir during the news conference. More importantly, they would undoubtedly be sufficiently motivated given the Champions Trophy and a significant journey to Australia.

“I believe they have demonstrated their abilities on a grand scale, be it the 50-over World Cup or the T20 World Cup,” he went on. During the meeting, Gambhir said, “Hopefully, if they can keep their fitness, the 2027 World Cup as well.”

Chief selection officer for the Indian Men’s Cricket squad, Ajit Agarkar, responded to criticism yesterday by saying that Surya Kumar Yadav possesses all the skills required to lead the squad. Pandya was the player chosen to be captain instead of Hardik Pandya.

“Hardik Pandya is a very important player, we have seen it in the World Cup and we need him, but his fitness is a big challenge now,” Ajit Agarkar stated at a news conference. We can handle him better, in my opinion. He remains a member of our staff. Surya Kumar Yadav possesses all the skills required to lead.
