The talented Indian team for the forthcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE in 2024 will be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who is anticipated to open the batting with Shafali Verma, will support the right-handed hitter.
Another top-order candidate on the team is Dayalan Hemalatha. In addition to them, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, and Deepti Sharma will strengthen a strong batting lineup.
Richa and Yastika Bhatia, whose inclusion in the team depends on their fitness, are the designated keepers in addition to Shreyanka Patil. Injuries have plagued both players for the past few months.
For the event in the United Arab Emirates, India will also have three travelling reserves: Uma Chetry (wk), Tanuja Kanwer, and Saima Thakor.
Among the bowling alternatives are Sajana Sajeevan, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, and Deepti Sharma. India has a good number of all-round players, including Deepti, Sajana, Harmanpreet, and Sobhana.
The tournament’s ninth edition will now take place in Dubai and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from October 3 to October 20. India is in Group A with Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, and Pakistan.
