In the pink-ball Test match at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday, Australia triumphed spectacularly by 10 wickets to get revenge on India.
Australia defeated India in the second test of the five-match test series thanks to a five-wicket haul from Pat Cummins. The squad has now tied the series 1-1 with their victory.
A little more than an hour into the opening session, India, which had resumed at 128-5 on Saturday, was bowled out after a sloppy total to 175. With a brilliantly pitched ball, Mitchell Starc dismissed Rishabh Pant for 28 runs, shattering India’s hopes.
On day three of the pink-ball match, openers Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja completed the pathetic target without losing in just four overs, chasing just 19 for win.
When Cummins was hitting bouncer after bouncer, India was in danger of losing an innings victory. The Australia captain’s short balls claimed the lives of R Ashwin, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
India’s defeat was yet another unpleasant memory of Adelaide; they also collapsed in three days in 2020 after being dismissed for 36, their lowest-ever Test score.
