BGT 4th Test, Day 3: Bad light stops play as India stands at 358/9 verses Australia

Bad light delayed play in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 4th Test on Day 3, leaving India at 358/9 against Australia on Saturday. “India has put up a good partnership,” former Australian cricketer Stuart Clark reportedly told ANI. Reddy and Washington are hitting well. Because they are coming closer to the Australian total, they are forcing the Australians to fight hard for their wicket, which adds intrigue to the match.

On Rishabh Pant’s dismissal, he says, “You gotta take the good with the bad. It was a big issue when it happened because India needed to fight. We’ve seen him play that shot a lot of times and hit it into the crowd as well. You’re gonna get it wrong from time to time, and unfortunately, he got it wrong today…”

It is important to note that Indian batter Nitish Kumar Reddy brought India back into the match at Melbourne on Saturday by scoring his first international century on Day Three of the Boxing Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. At 99, Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed the ball towards the mid-on fielder for a four in the day’s last session, securing his first international century in spectacular fashion.

Later, severe weather forced the suspension of play. On the third day, India was at 358/9 at the stumps, while Nitish (105) and Mohammed Siraj (2) were still undefeated. India is still 116 runs behind.
