While fielding, Ravindra was hit in the face, and after his seventh over, Rauf left the pitch with a strained side. The fast bowler sustained an injury in the 37th over of the first innings when he delivered the second ball, held his knee and then left the pitch in pain. During Pakistan’s batting innings, Rauf did not bat.

When asked about Rauf’s availability for the upcoming encounter, Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan said during the post-match conference that there was not much clarity on his situation. But he realised that there wasn’t anything to worry about based on the doctor’s reports.

However, in the 38th over of the second innings, Ravindra suffered a terrible injury when he misplaced the ball in the floodlights while attempting to catch Michael Bracewell and was struck hard in the face.

After Lockie Ferguson suffered a hamstring injury at the ILT20 in the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand is already facing injury issues.

Speaking of the game, in the opening encounter of the ODI Tri-Series, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 78 runs thanks to a blitzkrieg effort by batting all-rounder Glenn Phillips.

With two points and a net run rate of +1.560, the Kiwis took the lead in the ODI Tri-Series rankings with this resounding victory.

On February 10, New Zealand and South Africa will play their second game in the tri-series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

After the ball struck all-rounder Rachin Ravindra’s head during fielding during Saturday’s opening ODI of the tri-nation series against Pakistan, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) later released an update on his injury.
