Australia’s Alex Carey reveals secret behind his fiery form before facing India in Perth

Prior to the five Test matches against India, Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey disclosed that the “slight” technical change he made to his batting stance was the key that had enabled him to succeed in red-ball cricket. As the leading scorer in the first four Sheffield Shield rounds, Carey will enter the forthcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

The southpaw has amassed 452 at an average of 90.4 with his blazing style, which includes two hundreds. With one fewer game played than second-place Hilton Cartwright, he is at the top with even more impressive stats.
There are two main causes for the abrupt shift in Carey’s exciting season debut. His extended hiatus from competitive cricket is the first.

His technical modification of holding the bat slightly higher following the bowler’s release, which gave him more time to execute his strokeplay with accuracy and power, is the second explanation. “It’s only a little, but right now I feel like I’m in a decent position and responding to the ball rather well. After Australia’s first team practice, Carey said, “You just play and play and play, you don’t really get a chance to work on too many things,” according to cricket.com.au.

“Not having games coming up for a while, I’ve just mucked around a little bit with my hands and found something that felt good and sort of ran with that. I just got my hands up a little bit higher, the bat up to the sky and from there, just try to react. It did feel good pretty much straight away, so didn’t have to search too much,” he added.

Carey is eager to continue his impressive run of success in the forthcoming BGT series against India, which kicks off in Perth on Friday. Pat Cummins (c), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Nathan McSweeney, Steve Smith, and Mitchell Starc are the members of Australia’s first Test team.
