Cricketers wives can no more travel on tours, BCCI likely to limit the travel chart

After Team India lost to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the BCCI is probably going to take tough measures against them. The BCCI meeting was attended by top selector Ajit Agarkar, Gautam Gambhir, and Rohit Sharma. Cricket players’ families may be subject to stringent regulations from the BCCI.

The family will only be permitted to stay with the athletes for 14 days if the event lasts 45 days or longer, under the new regulations. Only seven days will be allotted if the tour lasts less than forty-five days.

Wives are not allowed to accompany participants during the competition, per the rules. Only two weeks are allotted for the family to be with the players. Every player will need to ride the squad bus. Additionally, Gautam Gambhir, the head coach, would not be permitted to sit in the team bus or VIP box. Additionally, he will need to stay at a different hotel.

The BCCI will not cover the additional cost if the player’s luggage weighs more than 150 kg. Team India will play England in the opening Twenty20 match and one-day series following a dismal showing in the Test series against Australia and New Zealand. The Champions Trophy will thereafter be played.

Notably, Team India lost 3-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and was just eliminated from the World Test Championship. It hasn’t done well when playing red ball, though.

The Champions Trophy 2025 itinerary in its whole has been made public. On February 23, India and Pakistan will play their encounter in Dubai. In Dubai, India will meet Bangladesh in the tournament’s opening encounter. All of India’s games will take place in Dubai. Lahore will host the Champions Trophy 2025 championship game. The final will also take place in Dubai if India advances.
