Former UK PM Rishi Sunak attends IND vs ENG 5th T20I at Wankhede, congratulates Team India on historic 150-run win

Rishi Sunak, a former prime minister of the United Kingdom, was present at the fifth and last Twenty20 International match of the India-England series on Sunday at Mumbai’s famous Wankhede Stadium.

India won the five-match series 4-1 thanks to a record 150-run victory over England in the fifth and final match, which was driven by Abhishek Sharma’s all-around effort.

Rishi Sunak took to X to congratulate Team India on their decisive victory in the last Twenty20 International, but to say that it was a difficult day for the Three Lions. He went on to say that watching the game with his father-in-law, Narayana Murthy, was enjoyable.

“Tough day for England at the Wankhede but I know our team will come back stronger. Congratulations to Team India on the win. Despite the result, it was an honour to meet @josbuttler and @surya_14kumar before the match and a pleasure to watch the cricket with my father-in-law,” Rishi Sunak wrote on X.
