Serving South Africa for a long time After 11 years, Hilton Moreeng’s term as women’s coach is over. In addition to leading South Africa through its professionalisation process and two ODI and two T20 World Cup semi-final appearances, Moreeng was first appointed to the position in 2013 and became the first national senior side to reach a World Cup final, which took place at home in 2023.
For South Africa’s tour of India, Moreeng’s assistant coach Dillon du Preez, a former first-class cricket player, will step in temporarily while a new coach is appointed.
Moreeng stated in a statement, “It has been an honour and a privilege to lead such a talented group of athletes over the years.” “I would want to sincerely thank the team management and all of the players who have contributed to this adventure. I am appreciative that I was able to collaborate with everyone of you.
“I also want to express my gratitude to the media and South African supporters for their steadfast support during this journey. Your support has been a never-ending source of inspiration.”
Additionally, CSA has hired Bongani Ndaba as the fielding coach and Baakier Adams as the new batting coach. Adams was previously a member of the Warriors provincial squad.
Prior to receiving a second extension in January of this year, Moreeng’s contract was extended in July of 2020.
