By defeating South Africa in the decisive match and winning the World Cup again after a 17-year absence, India has made history. The last time India had won the Twenty20 World Cup was in 2007, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has put an end to his country’s long wait for an international trophy with this victory.
The Indian side made the wise choice to bat first after winning the toss, as they finished the first 20 overs with a score of 176/7. With 76 (59) runs, Virat Kohli led all Indian batters in scoring. The highlight of the South African innings was Heinrich Klaasen 52 (27)’s breathtaking knocs. That was ineffective, though, as South Africa was unable to score eight runs.
In the T20 World Cup 2024 final, India had won the toss and chosen to bat first against South Africa. Given the condition of the pitch, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. The skipper emphasised that they needed to perform with composure since it was a significant event. He appreciated the Indian team’s performance as well as the South African team’s for their strong performance in the competition.
India and South Africa are the two teams that haven’t changed. The Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, is the venue for the game.
