According to the reports, Team India is unlikely to visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy since the BCCI would provide the International Cricket Council (ICC) with a hybrid model.
In order to avoid utilising a hybrid format for India’s matches, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suggested that the ICC Champions Trophy be held from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with all of the matches taking place across three major cities: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
For security considerations, the PCB has also suggested that Team India’s base for the tournament be Lahore, where the India vs. Pakistan match will take place.
Pakistan was supposed to host the Asia Cup in 2023, but matches were moved to Sri Lanka after the Indian government refused to allow the team to travel.
The Indian cricket team hasn’t played in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, and its matches are limited to ICC or ACC competitions.
India won their second title in the T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating Pakistan by six runs in the group stage of their final match last month.
Pakistan will host its first major international cricket competition, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan had previously co-hosted the Reliance Cup with India in 1987 and the Cricket World Cup in 1996 alongside Sri Lanka.
