India to face England in second T20 match on January 25 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

According to the itinerary, the Indian cricket team will play England in the second Twenty20 encounter on January 25 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. India now has a 1-0 series advantage.

India and England will play five Twenty20 matches at different Indian grounds. The series will also feature three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), one of which will be played at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. The ODIs will start at 1:30 pm IST, while the T20 matches will commence at 7 pm IST.

It is important to note that India won the first Twenty20 International of the series at Eden Gardens in Kolkata by a margin of seven wickets against England. India reached the mark after losing three wickets in 12.5 overs while chasing an easy total of 133 runs. Abhishek Sharma scored 79 (34) and Sanju Samson scored 26 (20) to lead the hosts.

England began to lose wickets in the opening over of the encounter after batting first. England struggled to form a partnership and kept losing wickets as the innings went on. In the last delivery of the innings, the visitors lost their tenth wicket. With a score of 68 (44), England captain Jos Butler led the innings in scoring. Arshdeep, Hardik, and Axar each took two wickets, while Varun Chakravarty took three.

Indian batsmen were unfazed by the task of chasing 133, as they achieved it in 12.5 overs despite losing three wickets. Sanju took 26 (20), A. Sharma took 79 (34), and Suryakumar took 0 (3) wickets. At the end of the innings, Hardik 3(4) and T. Varma 19 (16) were still not out.
