Indian Cricket Squad Receives Whooping Amount Of 125 Crore As Reward From BCCI, Here Is A Breakup Of The Prize Money

When the Indian cricket team raised the cup last month, everyone in India rejoiced joyfully. India ended their 11-year trophy drought when they won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup finals. In an exciting encounter on June 29 at Kensington Oval in Barbados, it defeated South Africa by seven runs.

The players visited the Prime Minister over breakfast at the Delhi Airport after their flight back, when they were greeted with a tremendous show and cheer by Indians. After that, they travelled to Mumbai, where Wankhede Stadium hosted a sizable triumph procession. Cricket fans were ecstatic at the sight, which made for a huge celebration. In recognition of the team’s triumph under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the BCCI awarded the Indian cricket team a prize money of 125 crores.

During the festivities at Wankhede Stadium, the captain, Rohit Sharma, received the cheque. An overview of the prize money breakdown was given in an article that Indian Express published on Monday. Each of the 15 players on the team would get 5 crore. As part of the Indian cricket team’s award, head coach Rahul Dravid and the other coaching staff—bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip, and batting coach Vikram Rathour—will each accept a sum of 2.5 crore rupees.

Ajit Agarkar, the head selector, and the members of the selection committee will each receive one crore. According to the report, the four reserve players who travelled to the USA and the West Indies—Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, and Rinku Singh—would also receive one crore each. The Indian cricket team has the right to award Rs 2 crore to each of the other backroom staff members who help the team along the way: the strength and conditioning coach, two masseurs, three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, and three physiotherapists.
