India’s cricket team’s recovery plan: the BCCI will reinstate the regulations from the Kohli period

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering a significant revamp in response to the Indian cricket team’s recent poor performance. The BCCI intends to reinstate a few of the regulations that were in effect while Virat Kohli was captain. According to reports, mandatory fitness tests—such as the yo-yo test, which the previous management discontinued in an effort to lower injuries—will resume.

In order to ensure that the players meet certain fitness requirements for selection, the BCCI medical team has been urged to change its focus from merely preventing injuries. This action is intended to keep athletes from becoming complacent after it was discovered that they adopted a lax attitude to fitness. According to a source, “some players have taken this lightly, but the board had been lenient with the players because they are constantly on the road.”

Additionally, the BCCI intends to monitor the wives and family members of players when they are on international assignments. Officials think that players may become distracted and perform worse if their family are there. In an effort to foster discipline and team togetherness, the board has also implemented a new regulation mandating that all players travel with the squad at all times.

Since the BCCI had abandoned some of the stricter regulations put in place under Kohli, these modifications are thought to represent a significant U-turn. The board’s decision to review those choices is a clear indication of their concern over the team’s recent performances. The BCCI is doing all in its power to bring back the glory days since the Indian team cannot afford to lose its place.
