IPL 2024, GT Vs DC: Delhi Capitals Beat Gujarat Titans By 4 Runs

In yesterday’s IPL 2024 encounter, the Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals squared off. Delhi defeated Gujarat by four runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the GT vs. DC match.

Following captain Rishabh Pant’s outstanding 88 off 43 balls and Axar Patel’s 43-ball 66 to propel DC to a massive 224/4, GT quickly scored runs thanks to 65 from Sudarshan and 55 from Miller. But in a true run-fest, DC prevailed in the end to grab the vital two points.

Shubman Gill lost his first wicket in his 100th IPL match when chasing 225 after he misjudged the loft to mid-on off Anrich Nortje. For the rest of the power play, Wriddhiman Saha and Sudharsan struck eleven boundaries between them, including 17 off Khaleel Ahmed in the third over.

After being dropped by Axar at mid-on off of Rasikh Salam’s bowling, Sudarshan got a bit of luck as GT finished the power play at 67/1. When Sudarshan slashed and glanced at Axar Patel for four straight, he did it neatly. However, Saha struck hard as Kuldeep Yadav struck, and Axar leaped just in time to pull the catch out of thin air.

With 19 runs needed in the last over, Rashid started by hitting Mukesh for a four in the distance between long-on and mid-wicket. Rashid was quick to cut over extra cover for a boundary as the bowler pitched it wide.

Following two dot balls, Rashid hit a six-figure shot over long off. Rashid struck off a yorker with three runs needed from the final ball, but DC held their nerve to win narrowly. The ball went one bounce to long-off.
