Delhi Capitals were defeated by 47 runs by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in yesterday’s IPL 2024 match. With Yash Dayal taking 3-20, RCB defeated DC by 47 runs to win the IPL for the fifth time in a row. Now, Team Bengaluru is still vying for a postseason berth. The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium hosted the RCB vs. DC encounter of yesterday evening.
Dayal led an outstanding bowlers’ exhibition on a somewhat two-paced pitch to bowl out DC for 140 after Rajat Patidar (52) and Will Jacks (41), together with Cameron Green’s 32 not out, took RCB to 187/9.

DC were reduced to 30/4 in 3.3 overs when Mohammed Siraj plumb lbw’d Kumar Kushagra. After Yash Dayal was outscored by Shai Hope for three fours, DC ended the Power-play at 54/4. Axar also struck two boundaries off Siraj. Even though Axar crossed some lines, RCB managed to contain DC.
Axar hit his second fifty of the season in thirty balls after slog-sweeping Karn Sharma once and Will Jacks twice to keep DC in the race. However, Rasikh Salam toe-ended a chip to long-on off Green, and Axar’s heave resulted in a top-edge caught by sliding backward point off Green, ending DC’s hopes of chasing. To ensure that the RCB gave its devoted supporters everything to cheer about, Ferguson and Dayal claimed the final two wickets.
