Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s 102 (not out) in yesterday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
After receiving a match brief, the Mumbai Indians chose to bowl first against the Sunrisers after winning the toss. While batting first, SRH lost eight wickets while scoring 173 runs. Pat Cummins struck 35 runs (not out), Nitish Kumar Reddy made 20, and Travis Head scored 48 runs. Jaspit Bumrah lost one wicket, while Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla both claimed three for MI.
With 16 balls remaining, MI managed to reach the 174-run total despite losing three wickets in the process. Of these, Tilak Varma scored 37 runs without being out, Ishan Kishan scored nine, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 102 runs. Pat Cummins, Marco Jansen, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar each claimed one wicket for the SRH.
In terms of the standings, Sunrisers Hyderabad is in fourth place with six wins and five losses, while the Mumbai Indians are now ranked ninth with four wins and eight losses.
The Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals will face off today at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
