Rohit Sharma to be rested for final test against Australia, Bumrah to lead India!

According to credible reports on Thursday, current Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is probably going to be rested for the last test match against Australia. In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah is probably going to be the team’s leader. For personal reasons, Rohit was unable to attend the first maths in the Border Gavaskar trophy. He has only amassed 31 runs in three games in the five-match test series.

At the official press conference before the series, coach Gautam Gambhir stated that every player is aware of their duty before the final test between Australia and India. “There is only one tendency and there is only one discussion – it’s the team first ideology that matters,” Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir told the press.

Gautam Gambhir further added, “You need to play what the team needs. You can still play your natural game in a team sport – but if the team needs you – you need to play in a certain way. As of now, Akashdeep is out (for the fifth test) due to back injury.”

Gambhir then said, “Every individual knows in which area they need to work. When you play for your country, you want to give your best. I think the debates between a player and a coach should remain between them – conversations should be restricted to the dressing room.

He concluded by saying, “Everything is fine with Rohit and we will announce that (Playing 11) tomorrow, after seeing the pitch. We had just one conversation in our dressing room – how we will win the next test, as it is important for us.”

India’s hopes of making it to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final at Lord’s early next year were dashed after Australia defeated them by 184 runs in the Melbourne Test, giving them a 2-1 series lead. Australia is now leading India 2-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is still in play. The last Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) match between Australia and India will begin on January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
