Australia lost all of their wickets at 127 runs with 4 balls remaining in their chase of the 149-run mark. Glenn Maxwell scored 59 of them, Mitchel March scored 12, and Marcus Stoinis scored 11. Afghanistan maintained their chances of qualifying for the semifinals with this victory over Australia. New Zealand was earlier defeated by Afghanistan in the group stage.

Notably, Australia’s encounter against India on Monday will advance them to the next round. Australia will be eliminated from the competition this year if they lose to India.

In yesterday’s encounter at Sir Vivian Ricjards Stadium, India defeated Bangladesh with a score of fifty runs.
