The threat posed by Hurricane Beryl has caused a further delay in Team India’s departure from Barbados and arrival in Delhi. The Blue team was supposed to depart Barbados by Tuesday at 6 PM local time and be in Delhi by Wednesday night, according to earlier reports.
But according to media reports, the team is expected to land in Delhi early on Thursday, July 4. Because of Hurricane Beryl, the squad is stranded in the island nation.
According to the most recent information provided by Reuters, the hurricane is moving slowly in the direction of Jamaica while issuing warnings to Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
On Monday, the hurricane strengthened to a category four, threatening life-threatening gusts that battered Barbados and neighbouring islands.
It is important to note that India made history when they defeated South Africa in the decisive match and resurrected the World Cup after a 17-year absence. The last time India had won the Twenty20 World Cup was in 2007, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has put an end to his country’s long wait for an international trophy with this victory.
