For the third Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) season, Guyana Amazon Warriors has added England wicketkeeper-batter Lauren Winfield-Hill to its roster.

Together with Jamaican seamer Kate Wilmott, the Amazon Warriors have also selected former West Indies Under-19 captain Ashmini Munisar, offspinner Sheneta Grimmond, uncapped all-rounder Realeanna Grimmond, left-arm spinner Kaysia Schultz, and Nyia Latchman.Along with representing the Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, Galle Cricket Club, and Singha Sports Club in Sri Lanka, Dhammika Niroshana amassed over 200 runs and 19 wickets in 12 first-class matches and 48 runs and five wickets in eight List-A matches.

Prior until now, the three WCPL teams had primarily recruited through pre-signings and retentions. The addition of all-arounders Erin Burns from Australia and Chloe Tryon from South Africa was revealed by Amazon Warriors last week.

In the meantime, the reigning champion Barbados Royals recruited seam-bowling all-arounder Shabika Gajnabi, seamer Cherry Ann Fraser, and batter Djenaba Joseph, who were all with the Amazon Warriors the previous season, to their roster. Wicketkeeper Rashada Williams and batter Trishan Holder were also added from last year’s side.

Kyshona Knight, Anisa Mohammed, and rookie wicketkeeper Shunelle Sawh were selected by the Trinbago Knight Riders from their roster from the previous season. For the following season, batters Jannillea Glasgow and Chedean Nation, who were with the Royals in the WCPL 2023, joined TKR.

August 21 to August 29, Trinidad will host this year’s World Cricket Premier League (WCPL). The Brian Lara Cricket Academy will serve as the site of all seven matches.
