Injured Mayank Yadav ‘unlikely to play’ next two games for LSG, says Justin Langer

On the eve of Lucknow Super Giants’ upcoming match against Delhi Capitals, head coach Justin Langer stated that he expected fast bowler Mayank Yadav to be “back bowling again soon” and that the player is unlikely to feature in the team’s next two games.

In LSG’s previous game, on Sunday against Gujarat Titans, Mayank had left the field after bowling just one over. The team’s CEO announced the next day that Mayank had “soreness in lower abdominal area” and that his workload will be reduced.

In a press conference on Thursday, Langer stated, “He felt a little bit of tightness at the top of his hip leading into the last game, but that was about a one-out-of-ten pain, and we thought that there were clinical signs.” “Everything that came from the physiotherapists and doctors seemed to be in order. After bowling the first over against the Titans, he began to have hip pain.

However, there is a very tiny enlargement there that was discovered during an MRI. Thus, we have high hopes that he will soon begin to heal and return to bowling.”

Two days after hosting DC, LSG travels to Eden Gardens to play the Kolkata Knight Riders in a day game. According to Langer, Mayank’s recovery was made more difficult by the short turnaround and the flight.

“It is the intention to have Mayank ready for the April 19 match against the Chennai Super Kings.” “We would prefer that he participate in every game,” Langer remarked. “But he’s going to work for it; he’s putting in a lot of effort every day to be prepared for our upcoming game. It’s improbable that he plays these two games given the extremely tight turnaround, thus he won’t play tomorrow. He is, nevertheless, making every effort to play whenever he can.”

Langer expects Mohsin Khan to play against KKR

Another fast bowler that LSG has been worried about is Mohsin Khan.

After participating in the first two games of the season and bowling his fair share of four overs in both, Mohsin sustained a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing in the next two games for LSG. Mohsin was declared out of Friday’s match against DC by Langer, but he may return against KKR.

“He’s currently bowling outside. His back experienced a minor disc flare-up, according to Langer. “We value him and Mayank greatly. He [Mohsin] has received every treatment; having a top-notch medical team is a great asset. He’s playing middle bowling today.

He might be available tomorrow, but we’ll be looking at the Kolkata game most likely, when that extra pace would be helpful, hopefully. But perhaps he’s headed in the right direction.
